IPL 2019: Chennai Super Kings beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by a big margin

Chennai Super Kings(CSK) registered their first win in Indian Premier League 2019 against Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) by 7 wickets. It was Ambati Rayudu(28) who was the top scorer for CSK after the home team spinners got RCB all-out for 70.

Yuzvendra Chahal started the innings with a maiden and then picked up the wicket of Shane Watson on duck in his next over. Ambati Rayudu was dropped on 8 as well by Umesh Yadav on Chahal. Suresh Raina who came in next got to his 5,000 IPL runs, becoming the first one to achieve this landmark. He was soon out off Moeen Ali in the 10th over for 19(21).

Rayudu led the team to victory with his mature innings of 28(42), which consisted of 2 boundaries and a six. He was bowled by Mohammed Siraj in the 15th over. Kedar Jadhav too contributed to the chase with an innings of 13*.

CSK next play Delhi Capitals(DC) on March 26 in an away game at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. Whereas, RCB play their next match against Mumbai Indians on March 28 at their home ground.

Scorecard: RCB 70 all-out (Parthiv Patel 29; Imran Tahir 4-1-9-3, Harbhajan Singh 4-0-20-3) lose to CSK 71-3 (Ambati Rayudu 28, Suresh Raina 19; Yuzvendra Chahal 4-1-6-1) by 7 wickets.
