The Chennai Super Kings(CSK) proved that experience wins over the youth, when they won the Indian Premier League last year. With almost the same squad they will step in again in IPL 2019. This year they would be more charged up because they will get their home ground back in Chennai.
One may again call CSK old-mans team, but they got the result last year and can get it again. With CSK, not only the team, but also the bench strength is balanced. The team is a perfect mix of youth and experience. CSK have a proper combination of players who can accelerate the innings as well as stand strong when needed.
Seeing the opening spot, there is Murali Vijay and Shane Watson who can open, if any of them is our of form Sam Billings who can back it. The middle order is well constructed with players like Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni, Dyawne Bravo and Faf du Plessis. The all-rounders unit consist of Ravindra Jadeja, Mitchell Santner and Watson. The spin-unit has hefty experience of Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir and young talent like Karn Sharma.
Deepak Chahar impressed everyone with his ball-swinging ability in IPL 2018. Chahar picked up 10 wickets with an impressive T20 average of 7.28. The other pacers accompanying him are David Willey, KM Asif, Dhruv Shorey, Lungi Ngidi, Shardul Thakur and T20 specialist Mohit Sharma. Ambati Rayudu and Kedar Jadhav will have lot more to prove with their performance keeping in mind a fix spot in World Cup squad.
