Hardik Pandya bagged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance |
Hardik Pandya was declared the Man of the Match for his all-round performance for Mumbai Indians(MI) against Chennai Super Kings(CSK). He played an important cameo by smashing 25 off 8 and took 3 for 20 in his four overs. However, he made his goals clear while speaking in the post match ceremony.
"My only focus is to play IPL and make sure India wins the World Cup. That's why I am practising the way I am doing right now. That is my sole purpose. That's why I am practising the way I am doing right now." Hardik was also in news in between for all the infamous comments he made in a reality show.
Hardik has been doing the role of finisher pretty well this season. He has been scoring quick runs at an exceptional strike rate of 204.65 in IPL 2019. He even replicated the helicopter shot in the last over, taking MI to a fighting target of 170.
"I've just batted and batted and batted [in training], and touch wood, the game is getting improved. I am someone who wants to improve day by day. That is something I was focusing on all that time I was out [of the side]. It is a fantastic feeling when you hit the ball like that and make your team win.
World Cup 2019 will begin from May 30 with India playing its first match on June 5 against South Africa. Hardik is expected to be the first choice all-rounder in the team.
