Shikhar Dhawan's highest IPL score takes Delhi Capitals(DC) to a victory by 7 wickets against the Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR). Dhawan smashed 11 boundaries and 2 sixes in his innings with a fabulous strike-rate of 153.97. KKR again failed to take wickets in the middle over, which eventually cost them the game.
Prithvi Shaw(14) and Dhawan added 32 for the opening stand, before Shaw edged the ball by Prasidh Krishna to Dinesh Karthik who took a good catch diving left. Shreyas Iyer could not make a big score today, he went cheaply for 6. He walked off when he knew he edged one off Andre Russell. This is why DC are on the top of Fair Play table.
Later it was just the Dhawan and Rishabh Pant show that took DC to a win comfortably. Pant in his innings of 46(31) scored 4 boundaries and 2 sixes. However, yet again he did not stay till the end to finish the game off. He added a vital partnership of 105 runs for the fourth wicket.
Scorecard: KKR 178 for 7 in 20 overs (Shubman Gill 65, Andre Russell 45; Chris Morris 4-0-38-2, Ishant Sharma 4-1-21-1) lost to DC 180 for 3 in 18.5 overs (Shikhar Dhawan 97*, Rishabh Pant 46; Nitish Rana 2-0-12-1) by 7 wickets.
