Virat Kohli has engraved his name in record books by winning the Wisden's Cricketer of the Year for three years in a row. The announcement was made on Wednesday, April 10. India's skipper, and top-ranked batsman in Test and ODIs is the only non-English player in the list of winners.

In 2018, Kohli scored 2,735 runs and also performed well in India's tour of England smashing 539 runs in five Tests. Although India lost the series 1-4, but Kohli's tally in the series was more than nay other batsmen.

The other four winners of Wisden Cricketers of the year are Sam Curran, Jos Buttler, Tammy Beaumont and Rory Burns. Curran, who was the Man of the Series in India's tour became the youngest player to be awarded this title at the age of 20.

For a player to be approved by Wisden, he needs to achieve a feat in English domestic season, once in their career.
