The end of Yuvi era

Yuvraj Singh has announced his retirement from all forms of International cricket with immediate effect. The 37-year old former Indian player played a major role in India's victory in T20 World cup in 2007 and ICC ODI World Cup of 2011. He made a dramatic return in 2012 after fighting rare germ cell cancer in his lungs.

He along with his family announced this decision in a hotel near Wankhade stadium, Mumbai. "I have decided to move on. Cricket has given me everything and that's why I am standing here," he said after being reduced to tears by a video of the highlights of his career.

"It’s been a love-hate relationship."

Yuvraj was last seen playing for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, he played only four games and was dropped for poor performances. This does not sum up the legacy he holds in his golden days. On his days he would hold one side and turn the fortunes of the game, hit 6 ball 6 sixes and carry the team to triumph in ICC tournaments.

It wasn't a happy return for the legend post his recovery from cancer. The team owes Yuvraj a lot for his contribution to the nation.
