Delhi Capitals register win against Kings XI Punjab

The Delhi Capitals registered their sixth win in Indian Premier League 2019 by defeating Kings XI Punjab in a nail-biter. It all came down to the last over for the home team chasing 164, they eventually won by 5 wickets. Shreyas Iyer led the chase with 58*(49) with 5 fours and one maximum.

Prithvi Shaw failed to score big again, getting out on 13(11). It was the partnership of 92 for the third wicket between Shreyas Iyer and Shikhar Dhawan that set the stage for Delhi. Dhawan failed to convert a good start into something big, as he was out in the 24th over. Dhawan smashed 7 boundaries and a six in his innings of 56(41). Colin Ingram scored some quick runs in the end, hitting 19 off 9 before getting out.

Earlier in the match, Chris Gayle led the away team to a competitive total of 163 for 7 in 20 overs. Gayle smashed 69 off 37 with 6 boundaries and 5 sixes. Other than him, no other batsmen managed to go past 30. Sandeep Lamichhane starred with the ball taking 3 for 40.
