IPL 2019: KKR lose after Nitish Rana, Andre Russell take it down to the last over against RCB

Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) held their nerves till the last over, but ended on the losing side against Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB). A total of 416 runs were scored, with KKR losing by mere 10 runs. The match was marked by Virat Kohli's first century of this season, and fifth overall in IPL.

Chasing 214, the home team got the equation down to 17 off 3 with Andre Russell and Nitish Rana on a rampage. They both built a partnership of 118 runs for the fifth wicket. Russell, with the form he is in, smashed 65 off 25 with 2 fours and 9 sixes. Rana played a long innings of 85* off 46 with 9 boundaries and 5 sixes.

Earlier in the match, Kohli smashed his fifth IPL century in 57 balls. He was out on the last ball, trying to hit for a six. However, it was Moeen Ali's innings that took the pressure off Kohli in the middle order. Ali scored 66 off only 28 by hitting 5 fours and 6 sixes. He also bowled the last over defending 24 successfully. 

Scorecard: RCB 213 for 4 in 20 overs (Virat Kohli 100, Moeen Ali 66; Andre Russell 3-0-17-1) won against KKR 203  for 5 in 20 overs (Nitish Rana 85*, Andre Russell 65; Dale Steyn 4-0-40-2) by 10 runs.
