The match 25 of Indian Premier League 2019 saw two rare incident. One was MS Dhoni—one of the fittest player in the world— getting tired in the end overs. It was indeed the heat of Rajasthan that got into him. The second was Dhoni getting angry on-field during a no-ball mishap in the final over.
It happened when CSK were chasing 152 made by Rajasthan Royals, and the umpire next to the bowler signaled a no-ball without confirming it with the leg-umpire. This decision was eventually turn-around after discussion. This saw a livid Dhoni walking in the middle from the dug-out to argue with the umpires.
This upset many cricketing legends as they reacted on twitter in criticism to Dhoni, while some complained about the umpiring standards to be very low this IPL.
Among the firsts for me in today's game was the sight of Dhoni walking out onto the ground. As @MichaelVaughan said on #CricbuzzLIVE it is something he will realise he shouldn't have done.— Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) April 11, 2019
I know there’s pressure from owners and big money involved in the IPL but I’ve been very disappointed with the 2 incidents involving the skippers of there respective teams in Ashwin and MS. Not a good look at all.— Mark Waugh (@juniorwaugh349) April 12, 2019
Umpiring standards have been pretty low in this #IPL and that was a no-ball given and reversed. Enough to feel crossed and miffed. But the opposition captain has no right to walk out on the pitch after being dismissed. Dhoni set a wrong precedent tonight. #RRvCSK #IPL— Aakash Chopra (@cricketaakash) April 11, 2019
The umpire is well within his right to overturn a No-Ball or any decision on the field for that matter. Surprised with how Dhoni handled it. It was so unlike Captain Cool #RRvCSK— Hemang Badani (@hemangkbadani) April 11, 2019
However, Pragyan Ojha did no criticise Dhoni, but congratulated him for his 100th IPL win.

Umpiring this season has deteriorated! Some times you feel what do you play for, the cup or the fair play award? #RRvCSK #VIVOIPL congratulations #msd for 100th win as captain. #GameBanayegaName— Pragyan Prayas Ojha (@pragyanojha) April 11, 2019
CSK are now on the top of points-table with 12 points.
