Mumbai Indians(MI) might have lost their opening game in Indian Premier League 2019, but what was good for them is the form of Yuvraj Singh. Chasing a mammoth total of 213 against Delhi Capitals, MI was 37 runs short. Yuvraj, who has been out of form and Indian team for a while now, was the top-scorer for MI with a half-century. It was without doubt that Rishabh Pant was the star of the night.
Yuvraj had a steady start to his innings, but started hitting post Axar Patel's first over. He had timing problems against Keemo Paul and the pace of Kagiso Rabada, but he targeted the other bowlers well. In his innings of 53 off 35, Yuvraj smashed 5 boundaries and 3 sixes. The Mumbai crowd saw glimpses of vintage Yuvi and might be in for a full show soon."I'll play till the time I enjoy playing cricket." - @YUVSTRONG12 reveals having consulted former teammate and @mipaltan mentor @sachin_rt on playing as long as the spirit & desire remains! #VIVOIPL pic.twitter.com/Y7KtUZnA1c— IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) March 25, 2019
Talking in the post-match press-conference, Yuvraj spoke about various topics including his plans to retire from cricket. Currently team India is facing from middle order problems going into the world cup. It was one headache India did not have when they lifted the trophy in 2011, courtesy Yuvraj Singh.
