If you are someone who has gone around the world, visiting marvelous theme parks like Universal Studios, Disney Land, Ferrari World and many more, then Ramoji is just another garden for with film sets in it. However, it is a huge garden where one can not ramble around. The tour bus takes one in and only stops at particular sets and gardens. With the amount of land the film city owns, it can do wonders with it. Ferrari World Abu Dhabi covers only 21.25 acres of land, whereas Ramoji holds the world record for 2,000 acres. In comparison Ferrari World is more than far better from Ramoji.
The next gigantic thing the city has is the IKEA store in the Gachibowli area. It is spread over a huge area of 4 lakh square feet. It welcomes you with open arms but does not release you until you see the whole store. It is a state of the art architecture, immaculately designed and will make you want to buy something. It is big enough to have a restaurant and play area in it as well.
Coming to historic spots like Golconda Fort, Salar Jung Museum, Charminar you cannot miss out on hiring a guide to know the specifics. The last ruling Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Khan, was one of the richest men in the world during India's Independence period. Imagine, it takes a Nizam to use a sizeable diamond as a paperweight. There are many such stories of his prosperity like this which will leave you in awe.
The old city is one which will make you linger around the narrow streets(image on the right) shopping bangles, jewelries and the famous Pochampally silk sarees. Whereas, the new city will introduce you to numerous gigantic furniture shops, innovative pubs and restaurants. You may stay there for more than a week, but you will always feel that you have left out on something while returning.
