Rajasthan Royals have registered their first win in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 in the match 14 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). It has been tough season for both the franchise from the start. For RR, they have played good cricket but failed to finish the game. Whereas, RCB are yet to find their rhythm in the tournament.
The home team were very comfortable while chasing a easy total of 159, as the openers set a good foundation early on. Ajinkya Rahane (22) and Jos Buttler (59) stiched a opening stand of 60. Steve Smith also made sure he contributed with his runs. However he slowed the game with his innings of 38 off 31. It was Rahul Tripathi(34*) and Ben Stokes(1*) who finished it for the RR.
Yuzvendra Chahal has always been the go to bowler for RCB and he did not disappoint today as well. However, dropped catches caused RCB the game. Chahal desperately needs another strike bowler to support him in difficult times.
Earlier in the match, Parthiv Patel starred for RCB in the batting. He smashed 67 off 41 with 9 boundaries and a maximum. Marcus Stoinis, who played his first game of IPL 2019 also contributed towards the end with an innings of 31* off 28.
Scorecard: RCB 158 for 4 in 20 overs (Parthiv Patel 67, Marcus Stoinis 31*; Shreyas Gopal 4-1-12-3) lose to RR 164 for 3 in 19.5 overs (Jos Buttler 59, Rahul Tripathi 34*; Yuzvendra Chahal 4-0-17-2) by 7 wickets.
